GREENVILLE, N.C.— The Marley Fund is “working together paw in hand” with I Believe to bring "Fidos & Fords Charity Doggie & Car Wash" to the community on Saturday, July 28 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and July 29 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
I Believe was designed to help under privileged children attain success through athletics. The organization provides basketball camps to kids grades K-7 free of charge so they can have an opportunity to learn the basics and take their games to the next level.
Marley Fund is the only non-profit organization in the nation dedicated to striking back at Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency (FIV) viruses, the number one killer of felines to date.
The two-day event will be at Wal-Mart in Greenville.
“This is a thrilling event for me personally and on behalf of Marley Fund to be able to branch out and help others with wonderful causes as well as our own,” said Joy Eubanks, president of the Marley Fund. “We are excited to help I Believe with their basketball camps and to make a difference in the lives of children and animals. Thanks to the Wal-Mart Foundation and their Good Works Program for making this possible.”
The public is asked to bring donations of basketball camp equipment, such as basketball shoes and socks for children, basketballs, etc. or animal supplies, such as food, scoop-able litter and cleaning supplies.
Dog wash services are being donated by Pawsitively Stylish Grooming of the Animal Hospital of Pitt County. A “doggie wash” will include shampoo and crème rinse, cologne spray, nail trim and a free bandana of your choice.
The cost for large dogs is $17; and small dogs are $12. Or, any donated item valued the same can be exchanged for services.
The car wash services will be done by volunteers for any donation.
