Marley Fund Extends Casting For 2008 Cat Calendar

GREENVILLE, N.C.—Attention all feline friends: the Marley Fund’s annual kitty calendar contest has been extended to July 31 to give more pet owners the chance to have their cats grace the pages of the 2008 full-color calendar.
Marley Fund is the only non-profit organization in the nation dedicated to striking back at Feline Leukemia (FeL V) and Feline Immunodeficiency (FIV) viruses, the number one killer of felines to date.
"We are looking for those priceless moments captured by pet owners,” said Joy Eubanks, Marley Fund president. “We wish to continue to make our calendar a sought-after item in order to benefit animals residing in our safe haven and to help future feline victims of retroviruses.”
The contest is open to any furry friend who has brought others joy with its personality, antics and beauty. Entries should include a brief story about the cat, along with its name and birthday. Photos should be limited to five per entry and cannot be returned.
There is a $10 entry fee per animal. Please make checks or money orders payable to Marley Fund. Entry fees will benefit Marley Fund’s educational programs and help fund printing of the educational calendar. It will also benefit feline leukemia positives residing at the Marley House—meaning the support of entrants will help save the lives of animals.
Winners will be selected based on clarity and creativeness of the photos, along with strength of story. Twelve winners and 10 semi-finalists will all appear in the calendar.
“We truly believe that our calendar touches hearts and helps others understand that they too can help stop the cycle,” Eubanks added. “They too can help animals starting with supporting this event. This is what it is all about...saving more lives through marketing, education and awareness."
